4-player semi-cooperative playthrough · Primebloods
Nemesis: Retaliation: setup guide
Survive and satisfy your retained Objective. In this semi-cooperative game the shared Mission Task matters to some objectives, while other private goals can conflict with it. Escape alone does not establish victory: Infection, Eclosion and the final Objective check can still change the result.

Match the mission before sorting components
Use the English base game, standard difficulty, Primebloods and four-player semi-cooperative mode. Separate Mission Tasks, Mission Objectives and Private Objectives rather than treating them as one deck. Exclude cards whose minimum player count exceeds four. The example uses Primary Samples with four fictional players; a different Mission Task or retained Objective can change what the crew needs to bring back and which escape route is useful.
Setup 02
Build the facility and identify its borders
Assemble sections A, B and C with the round-track border. Cover the Hibernatorium with its Undiscovered tile and keep the Life Support and Hibernatorium tokens inactive. Place the Round marker at one, Lander at ten, Autodestruction in its holding slot and Objective Choice marker at the top. Shuffle Robot and Anti-Aircraft components face down. Inspect each destination in the tutorial before advancing; explanations of a placed border do not place it again.
Setup 03
Prepare the Landing Zone and unseen facility
Put five Eggs in the Nest extension and four each of full Ammo, Grenade, Oxygen and Medpack tokens in the Landing Zone supply slots. Connect three randomly drawn corridors to the Landing Zone, with Door slots facing its entrances. Sort and shuffle room backs into the A, B, C and question-mark stacks. The printed fixed Landing Zone and Hibernatorium are separate from the room draw piles, and unvisited rooms remain unknown.
Setup 04
Separate alien threats from player supplies
For four players the initial Intruder bag contains one Blank, two Larvae and seven random Adult tokens. Drones and the Queen do not begin in that bag. Prepare the separate Event, Intruder Attack, Queen Health, Exploration, Item, Contamination and Serious Wound decks, plus the token and miniature supplies. Queen Hits begins at zero with the Queen-is-Alive help side visible. Different decks perform different checks, so inspect their faces and backs as distinct component types.
Setup 05
Draft roles, equipment and hidden Objectives
Deal one private and one mission Objective to each player and reveal a Mission Task. Draft characters in ascending player-number order, then Support Equipment for eligible characters in descending order. Prepare each selected character’s board, Health, Oxygen seven, starting Item and full printed Ammo slots. Choose four Tactical Gear tokens, draw five Action cards and give player one Starting Player. Mara, Nia, Tomas and Ivo have complementary roles, but their private goals remain separate choices.
Before your first move
Players take turns clockwise, normally resolving two Actions and then Oxygen loss and Fire damage, until everyone has Passed. The round then resolves Intruder burning and attacks, the Event phase and bag Development, followed by Cleanup. Cards pay for basic Actions or supply their own chosen printed effect; paying a card does not activate its effect.
