4-player base · 3-player expansion
Kemet: Blood and Sand: setup guide
Reach at least nine Fame with no opponent ahead at the start of your Day turn. Timing matters: temporary temple and level-four pyramid points can change hands, while battle and divine tokens persist. Crossing the threshold during an action is not the same as passing the winning check.

Use the board for the selected count
The four-player route uses the four corner cities. Two storm overlays close the middle cities and their surrounding zones. Read the Nile, borders, obelisks and harbours before moving any army; a visual gap is not necessarily a legal connection.
Setup 02
Reveal the chosen power families
The base lesson uses Ruby, Sapphire and Diamond, with sixteen tiles in each colour organised by level. Onyx stays out of this recorded game. Power availability is shared, so everyone should be able to read the market before the first purchase.
Setup 03
Give each player a complete kit
Prepare twelve units, five action tokens, eight battle cards, a Diversion card, pyramid parts and markers for each player. Set Prayer to seven without awarding Fame. These component types serve separate functions and should be shown before their placements are inspected.
Setup 04
Prepare cards and city pyramids
Shuffle the thirty-three standard Divine Intervention cards; Diversion is distributed separately and Game Up cards are excluded. Follow the lesson’s legal initial pyramid choices and unit placements in the cities. They are recorded opening choices rather than a universally strongest setup.
Setup 05
Keep the expansion route separate
Choose Book of the Dead from the opening menu to see its three-player setup, Honor and Underworld components. Do not add those supplies halfway into the Blood and Sand lesson. Before beginning Day, confirm the power colours, starting troops, Prayer and unused action tokens.
Before your first move
During Day, players alternate placing action tokens to pray, recruit, build, acquire powers and move armies. Five coloured tokens per player must respect the player-board equilibrium requirement. Battles combine units, powers, battle cards and possible Divine Intervention; Night resolves income and refresh effects.
